Creative Director of Dry & Fly, Sarah Ethel, has teamed up with fresh-faced model and actress Babette Ryan, aged 18, for a Spring/Summer photoshoot to showcase just a handful of the hair guru’s signature looks. From her go-to ‘messy ballerina bun’ to the easy top knot with a silk scarf (as seen on the Chanel catwalk) to the Coachella-inspired corkscrew curls, Sarah’s not afraid to have fun with hair, and neither is the beautiful Babette. Among their favourite looks, you’ll also find the mermaid plait, which is both romantic and playful – and a firm favourite of model Hayley Baldwin – as well as the more sophisticated slicked back hair that dominated both Paris and New York’s fashion weeks. For Sarah, it’s all about good product choices that make for easy and effortless styling.

Turning heads as the session stylist and creative director of Dublin’s Dry & Fly salon, Sarah Ethel is fast becoming a household name. So skilled is this creative virtuoso, she’s since been referred to as ‘The Hair Guru’ by U Magazine and, adding to her already impressive credentials, she’s recently been nominated in the coveted IMAGE Beauty Awards 2018.

What separates Sarah Ethel from the rest? When this stylist works with a client, it’s not a simple case of in-and-out. “I take a lot of pride in spending time consulting with my clients to discuss their needs and their long-term goals for their hair; I know how important it is to them. Whether it’s colour or extensions, I prioritise the client relationship.” What’s more, be it doing extensions or creating a creamy blonde or rich colour, keeping the hair shiny and healthy is what’s most important to her. Sarah’s attention to detail and her ability to create a unique look that complements each client’s individuality is what continues to motivate her each day.

Sarah has earned a stellar reputation not just for her cutting skills or her L’Oreal Colour Expert offering – everything from balayage to highlights – but also for her precision and perfectionism when it comes to extensions. She works with only the best in the business, Gold Fever Hair Extensions, ensuring premium quality.

The hair guru aligns herself with only a select few top quality product brands. With 15 years of unparalleled experience behind her, Sarah chooses to work with L’Oreal, Moroccan Oil and her personal favourite – Bumble & Bumble. “I’m a huge fan of Bumble & Bumble, if I was ever asked to do something with them, I’d die!”

Skills aside, Sarah’s star is on the rise thanks to a combination of her peerless work ethic, her willingness to face any challenge, her positive attitude and her signature bubbly personality.

Sarah began her journey, earning her stripes at Peter Mark before devoting several years of service to The National Concert Hall and RTÉ where she became an integral part of the styling team. She gained an international perspective, while traveling to London for various showcases, as well as building up her celebrity clientele. With all of that experience and motivation behind her, it was only natural to go out on her own as a session stylist. Most recently, Sarah joined the prestigious Dry & Fly Blow Dry Beauty Bar as their Creative Director.

“I started in the industry because I had a passion to be creative and make people happy; that same passion continues to burn bright today, as I venture out on my own with the Sarah Ethel mobile salon service. I feel so blessed to be doing what I love! There’s nothing better than making a woman look and feel her best,” says Sarah.
