Wedding insider tips from Michael O’Neill Jnr, Fernhill House himag February 16, 2018 Uncategorized I grew up at Fernhill House and I have been around weddings my whole life. So, when I got married earlier this year, I had years of inside knowledge about what makes a great day. Here are some of my tips to make your day extra special! Get going After getting engaged, it can be tempting to take your time before starting your wedding planning. However, this can put you behind many other couples when looking for dates with bands, photographers, venues etc. Do one good month of planning at the start. Save a half hour of the best day of your life I am always surprised by how many couples that do not take advantage of the time between when the bell is rung and the meal is served. Spend this time taking photos and enjoy more of your drinks reception with your friends and family. Do something different Make your day memorable for your guests by doing something different. For our wedding, we asked all the guys to wear dickie bows, not black tie. Other things that I have seen are having a silent disco, a double decker bus to take guests to the venue, a craft beer drinks reception and more. A picturesque venue Photos are what you will have to remember your big day for ever more but you do not want them to take over your day. Having a photogenic venue will make everything more relaxed. You will have more time on your day with your guests and greater flexibility if there is a shower. Renowned suppliers Your wedding day is too important to risk with suppliers that you are not sure will do a good job. Do not just go with someone you found on the internet or at a wedding fayre. Make sure that they come with a recommendation from someone, who you can trust. Everyone will be so happy for you The main thing is to enjoy the day. Just remember that everyone will be wishing you well so don’t stress the small stuff.
